Job Description for Concrete Lab Manager Job in Malta (Europe)
- The Lab Manager brings together the managerial skills and knowledge of safety and lab procedures to ensure that laboratory operate smoothly. Managerial duties include scheduling staff, reordering supplies, and maintaining standards.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities for Concrete Lab Manager Job in Malta
- Manage on a day-to-day basis the laboratory and implement any related instructions to ensure that all staff follow the necessary procedures
- Conduct routine geotechnical/construction materials testing laboratory and field assignments including soils, concrete and masonry laboratory test performance
- Calibrate and maintain the laboratory equipment
- Keep the laboratory organized and in compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control initiatives, ISO 9001:2015 and BS EN UKAS accreditation requirements
- Perform calculations and data collection of test results and other administrative duties as appropriate
- Conduct both field testing services and laboratory testing
- Conduct technical trouble shooting of field and laboratory testing. Recruit, train and conduct performance reviews
- Network with clients, general contractors, and site superintendents
- Provide cost proposals for construction materials testing projects
- Provide monthly reports on team performance and manager activity to the Senior Manager, Support Services and relevant teams as identified by the Group
- Liaise directly with the Group’s clients via email to assist with queries, providing fast, accurate and thorough responses using pre-approved templates, including handling urgent emails from the Group’s clients and suppliers
- Purchase chemicals and new equipment and for the laboratory
- Clean up work area, housekeeping
- Report all accidents or near misses, and injuries, no matter how slight, that occur on the job to Head of Department / Health & Safety Official
- Wear personal protective equipment when working in hazardous areas, and/or as required
- Inspect all equipment prior to use and report any unsafe conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Ensure that you are in good health and not under the influence of alcohol and / or drugs, when performing your work
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions
- Work is normally on a full-time basis, from Monday to Friday. Working overtime or during weekends may be required in the event of a tight deadline
- Professional approach, both in manners and appearance
Education & Licenses Required for Overseas Concrete Lab Manager Jobs
- Require work-related experience and hold a relevant qualification at MQF Level 5 or 6 in related subject matter
